Deploy Agent on branch office BEST PRACTICES?

HI

I'm must deploy Zen Adaptive Agent on winXP in branch office.
My bandwith on remote agency is low (512kB).

I don't want to push the agent files from the central. Is it possible to put the agent files on each branch office and deploy it from this place via ZENWORKS?

I read that Content Distribution Point can't help me for agent deplyment (only for bundle and policy).
My version is ZCM 10.0.1

What's the bests practices for this kind of deployment?

thanks

Med1,

the best practice is to deploy ZDM7 - this release of ZCM is not
designed for environments with low bandwidth and will not work well.

Yeah, one of the big problems with any SOA design.

Even bigger problem is that it doesn't run on NetWare and a LOT of
customers still have it out on their WAN sites, so they'll have to
decide to either put Linux or Windows out there.

Using ZDM 7 is becoming less and less of an option as Vista gains
momentum.

We were hoping that the update (Corona) would've been out by end of year
like initially stated, but now it's not looking so good.

Just had a request from a 2,000 seat customer to start looking at MS SMS
and LANDesk because of this.

And if they go to Windows servers guess who will lose out?

M_jonis,

I understand what you're saying, but I still don't understand the
mentality of a business that willingly moves to Vista - why would I
want a lower desktop?

I don't understand why people are migrating en mass to MS on the server
end either, but the fact of the matter remains it's happening.

Novell needs to catch up to the times and understanding what's happening
in the real world, or else they will continue to lose market share.
