Do the Windows agents still use netidentity?

Older versions of the ZenWorks agents used dedicated version of netidentity
that was not compatable with the version that shipped with the windows
client?

Is this still the case or does the client team need to update their
installer so that it will not error out when it sees the ZCM agents?

Thanks

Re: Do the Windows agents still use netidentity?

Is anyone in the ZCM team in a position to tell the Client team 🙂

By the looks of things the Client install process just looks for a basic
ZenWorks entry in the
registry, ZCM creates the entry but with the version no. of 10. The result
is that you are
unable to install netidentity.

I believe that is correct.

ZCM no longer uses NetIdentity.

I asked about this and how Novell was going to reconcile with the
NetStorage team but never got an answer.

The ONLY thing I can think of is to install NetIdentity as part of the
Novell Client and then put ZCM on.

Or just live without it and use iChain or NAM and have it SSO into
NetStorage, but I believe that's the only thing left that uses XTier
authentication anymore.
