Error generating input file for Registry Edit Action

I want to add a key name and value to
HKCU/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/Currentversion.... and have created a
Directive bundle with one Registry Edit Action. The Registry Action is
set to run in the User context. However, with the bundle assigned to
the user, I get an error ("Error generating input file for Registry
Edit Action). If I change the action to run in the System context, but
that's no good for the current user logged in on the workstation.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated.

I meant to say that, if I set the Registry Edit Action to run in the
System context, the key name and value are added, but, of course, not
to the current user's hive.

What type of bundle are you using?

I first added the action to a Directive bundle. But, I've also tried it
in a File and Windows bundle with the same result.
