Installation Question

Hi All,

I have two questions I would like help on:

1. If I install the ZCM Adaptive agent on a machine that already has the
ZEN7 management agent, then it will remove the old agent I presume; correct?

2. What happens to the ZAM agent on the same machine? Does this also get
removed or does it just stay there? If it stays there, I presume it will
not affect the Adaptive agent or ZCM in any way?

Thanks in advance

The ZEN7 agent is uninstalled automatically when the ZCM agent is pushed
to a PC.

From what I can tell the ZAM agent is left alone (like the ZPM agent).

Re: Installation Question

Thanks for the answer!

I presume the ZAM agent doesn't interfere now that it becomes redundant on
the workstation?

Correct, but why would you want it?

Considering that the ZCM agent install doesn't remove the old versions
of ZAM and ZPM I think he wanted to make sure they wouldn't cause a
problem until he could remove the old versions (btw - is there a
recommended way of doing so - with ZPM I can do an mass uninstall from
the server, not sure about ZAM).

Matthew Grussing,

I would use the un-install string which can be found in the registry.

hklm\software\microsoft\windows\currentvesion\uninstall
