Re: Installing setup file silently with ini file

ITNinja.com is a good site for learning how to install different software packages.
Just about everything discussed there can be translated to ZCM Speak w/o much difficulty

In your case you want to create a simple bundle with a "Launch Executable Action".

"\\%network share%\installs\Drawing Viewers\SetupDWGTrueView2014_ENU_64bit\Setup.exe" goes on the command line.
/w /t /l /q "\\%network share%\installs\Drawing Viewers\SetupDWGTrueView2014_ENU_64bit\setup.ini" goes on the parameters line.

If your users are local administrators, that is all you need to do.

If not, then you will want to configure the action to run as a "Dynamic Administrator".
However, this will not have Network File access so you will need to do one of the two items...

#1 - Configure an "Install Directory Action" to copy the install files locally and install from there.
Many users do this for simplicity.

#2 - Configure a Credential Vault User that has permissions to the network share.
The "Dynamic Administrator" will then authenticate as that user to access the files.

Re: Installing setup file silently with ini file

Thanks CraigWilson for reply

I have tried using Install Directory action

It has copied the files to New folder C:\DWG

then I have given the Launch execute command

"C:\DWG\Setup.exe" on the command line.
/w /t /l /q "C:\DWG\setup.ini" on the parameters line.

But it is giving below error

Failed to Launch

Exception on launch: some or all identity references could not be translated

Re: Installing setup file silently with ini file

Hopefully not too late, but here is how I have Trueview set to install:

launch executable

command:
\\UNCPATH\DWGTrueView2015x64\setup.exe

parameters:
/w /t /q setup.ini

success return code:
1641

I run as dynamic admin and give network credentials. Haven't had any problems.
