Intel 82566DC-2 Gigabit not discovered

Hi again, here another issues with Imaging zen 10:

We have an new board with an network Intel 82566DC-2 Gigabit and Imaging can't discover it automatically. We use Zen 10, with the bootcd.iso included.

I know that there is some articles on how to able new devices to be discovered but it's deep linux stuff. I hope to have a patch to apply to my server, that could be including the new drivers for this device....

Or is there a latest bootcd.iso zen10 that could be available for download?

thank you for your support.

On a Dell Optiplex 755 with I THINK that chipset, in Configuration,
Infrastructure, Preboot Services, there is a line to add commands.
(Sorry no server available to look at this second).

Adding the newid line that other have suggested was sufficient to get
this hardware imaging.

I also made a new boot cd ISO from the files that were discussed in the
755 thread as well. (Just need WinISo, which nicely will edit small
ISO's for free, you pay for over a 100 Megs. How convienient!)

This tread will solve your problem.
Look in the section: download initrd and linux file and then add the new id...

Marcus,

but it's still a case that ZCM does not have the concept of a hot patch

Re: Intel 82566DC-2 Gigabit not discovered

I believe the answer to this question lies with the following:

Search Results Page

But I would like to caution the text in the TID is not correct:

"These files are only to be used until System Update 2 ships. System Update 2 will include updates made up to and after the System Update 1 versions."

If they are referring to the 10.0.2 update, although you bring down and "install" a zenpxeboot 10.0.2 RPM it does not contain an updated initrd.. it is dated Dec 14th.

For clarification in our case this addressed the Intel 82566DC-2 Gigabit NIC in the Dell Optiplex 755.

Smooth sailing with this bootcd.iso the TID mysteriously posted yesterday. 🙂

Re: Intel 82566DC-2 Gigabit not discovered

Could you boot in manual mode and do a hwinfo --netcard and tell us the
exact PCI ID?

The SU1 unfortunately doesn't have some of the driver updates that we
already shipped with ZEN 7, you could contact Novell support for some
updated drivers or wait for the SU2, the SU2 should have several updated
drivers.
