Inventory Collection by .exe file

I asked this question in the wrong group, so I apologize if you get this twice

We have a program which we would like to run an inventory scan on. Being relatively new to Zen works management, I was hoping someone could lead me in the right direction. I would like to add the .exe file of the program in order to run a report showing how many computers run this software. I have looked through a few Zen documents, but no luck.
Is this possible in Zen works 11.2.3a?
I was given the Creating Local Product page here http://www.novell.com/documentation/zenworks11/zen11_inventory/data/ba5mgyw.html
When I search for the software, I find it, but when I check the checkbox and choose "Create local Products" nothing happens. It doesn't appear to launch. This software has an executable called GDC.EXE

Thanks so much
