Netware as Content server

We would like to leverage our current Netware 6.5 servers for ZCM 10.1 Content, Imaging and Collection purposes, instead of a regular desktop. Is there any way to make these Netware boxes satellite servers?

Re: Netware as Content server

No not really. You can of course use Netware Volumes to host some
content, msis can be from the content-repo or Network Locations, as can
File Bundles. But only managed devices can act as satelite servers and
Netware does not fit into that picture

In ZCM you can inventory a Netware Box but you cannot manage it. I've heard rumors of such happening, but nothing as of yet.

Re: Netware as Content server

Hi Amaney,

An idea could be to setup the NetWare 6.5 Server to be caching web proxy as
most traffic between server & workstation is going on https.

An idea could be to either configure the Apache web server that way or to
use BorderManager.

Ingo
