NonCompliant items count

Is there a way to clear these off my message list once the device is
compliant again? I have several devices on the list that were at one
point out of compliance for various reasons and now, they seem to be
stuck there.

Re: NonCompliant items count

Alisia,

did you mean to post in server-install?

Re: NonCompliant items count

Hehe. Well, I'm not sure where to post it. It's a problem with ZCC and
so didn't quite fit anywhere (reporting, maybe?). What I'm seeing is on
the 'home' page in ZCC under the device hot list.

Re: NonCompliant items count

Alisia,

ah, for me, all I do is make sure all messages are acknowledged

Re: NonCompliant items count

The problem still exists though. I've also discovered that it seems to
be just policies that get stuck in this state.

Re: NonCompliant items count

In the home page section of the ZCC there is a Device Hot List that
shows recent errors and warning messages. It also shows Non-Compliant
items. I have a handful of systems in that category. When I got look
at the system details, on the relationships tabs, I'll have one policy
(it's only policies that seem to get stuck) that shows a status of
Failure. But, when I look at the status details, it says success. When
I look at the system in question, I can see that the policy IS in
effect. So the reporting is in error.

Re: NonCompliant items count

Alisia,

have you cleared out any messages for those policies? If there's an
unacknowledged error, it'll still show up with a problem

Re: NonCompliant items count

Yep, I've actually Deleted the messages. The device is still on the hot
list.

Re: NonCompliant items count

Alisia,

do they show with zero counts next to them? Trying to think how I can
most easily reproduce this...

Re: NonCompliant items count

They show one or twos. The one in particular that I did was a remote
management policy that I had applied to my server group. Then, I
realized that it wasn't working on the SLES box and removed the server
group and added the windows servers individually by name. The SLES box
is on my list of noncompliant devices.

Re: NonCompliant items count

Alisia,

what was the non-compliant item, can you remember? IF I can make it
happen here, we're a lot closer...

Re: NonCompliant items count

One was the Remote Management Policy. Another was a file rights policy.

Alisia,

and how not compliant?

Re: NonCompliant items count

I think in both cases it just said that the policy couldn't be applied.
But, in at least 2 cases the errant policy relationship has been severed
so they aren't really out of compliance anymore.
