Pre-Agent ONLY install?

I feel like I'm missing something here. I would like to reach in and
install the pre-agent WITHOUT it going further and installing the agent.

I'd like to be able to prep these systems without installing them and
then doing the installs when the staff are on holiday break.

What about installing the agent, running "zac unr" to unregister the
machine.

Delete the GUID in the registry in hklm/software/novell/zenworks
Then create the image.

I haven't really tested this theory that much, but I believe it works.

Well, that actually creates more work for me. We have to go touch a
number of systems for something totally unrelated to ZEN. I was hoping
to do a very minimal, non-invasive prep at this time so that I can reach
out and touch the machines when I am ready to do the ZEN install. The
discovery processes that I'm running are not giving me much data for
firewall and vlan'ing reasons.

I guess what I'll do instead is to have the machines configured so that
they let me in when I need to get there.

Thanks tho.

Re: Pre-Agent ONLY install?

Do these machines already have ZEN 7 agent on them?

If so, distribute the pre-agent files to them now, and then schedule a
zen app to run the now-local pre-agent.

Re: Pre-Agent ONLY install?

There are a ton of ways to make the machines to a pull, including a Novell
or MS Login script.
