Printer policy failed to add (iPrint) printer

Hi!
Set printer policy. Add to device. Refresh ws. Log in, iPrint client was installed ok, but got a error "Error: [1/18/10 3:29:08 PM] printer policy POLICYHANDLERS.PrinterPolicy.IPrintPrinterAddFailed Failed to add iprint printer ipp://10.0.0.123/ipp/HP_LaserJet_P2055_CD1A.". Look into ndps directory ippErrs.txt and there was several lines with error
"Routine: SessionManagerGetCurrentUserInfo - @SYSTEM - SNMP PROBLEM
Error: Cannot perform this operation on this built-in special user.".
Did restart ws and during user log in got same errors. System account and SNMP ... huh. My goal is to achieve same as it was and still is in ZfD (4.0.1) to install printers (via Novell Netware 6.5, OES 2) to device wo any user intervention.
When I did tied this policy to user I saw in errors
"Routine: IppInterpretUri - Bad URI (not HTTP, HTTPS, or IPP) - \\.\DISPLAYV3
Error: HTTP - Bad URL supplied (not HTTP:, HTTPS:, or IPP:).".
But, anyway, users usually don't have rights to add printers!
Any ideas?
More thanks, Alar.

Re: Printer policy failed to add (iPrint) printer

I try iPrint forum, please see thread http://forums.novell.com/novell-product-support-forums/iprint/398652-installing-iprint-printers-zcm-unattended-post1918924.html.
Could be some trouble with iPrint setup etc.
More thanks, Alar.

Re: Printer policy failed to add (iPrint) printer

Hi and thanks!
Did download KB893225 ... Nope, with system account ... same problem and also with user association ... also same! I couldn't find KB884897 for XP x86! But, anyway, this KB seems to does not fix this issue.
No problem with nipp installation, it was there. Probably with system account rights is same as with bundles installation in general -- system account does not have rights.
More thanks, Alar.

Well if you assign the printer policy to device then it should install with "full" rights.

Why can't it contact the server, you're deploying ipp printer right?

Can you post the content of: /var/opt/novell/iprint/htdocs/iprint.ini ?

Re: Printer policy failed to add (iPrint) printer

Hi and thanks! Please see below!
Yes, I see there is "AllowUserPrinters = 0", probably this avoid user printer installing. Probably I must reload Apache after changing that and I can't to that right now as iFolder 2 server is on same box.
But I tried under admin account and in error log appear
---
[Tue Jan 26 15:55:24 2010] [warn] [client 10.0.2.30] [20] auth_ldapdn authenticate: user alfastud authentication failed; URI /ipps/HP_LaserJet_P2055_CD1A [User not found][No such object]
---
But URI seems to be ipp not ipps !?
More thanks, Alar.
