Problem updating Imaging driver update August 19

Hello

I'm getting "Applying wrong imaging driver updates ......" when tying to install the Imaging driver update August 19.
In the imaging_driver_update.bat the scriptversion=170 and in the Zupdate.sig the [ZEN_CLIENT_VERSION] is 170007.

I run Zenworks 17.4 on a windows 2012
Any suggestions what I can do?

Regards Mikael

Re: Problem updating Imaging driver update August 19

When I look at an older script, the imaging_driver_update.bat shows this:
set revision=""
for /f "delims=" %%a in (ZUpdate.sig) do (
set line=%%a
if "!line:~0,2!"=="17" (
if NOT "!line:~0,3!"=="170" (
set revision=%scriptversion%

And in the new August 19 imaging_driver_update.bat shows:

set revision=
for /f "delims=" %%a in (ZUpdate.sig) do (
set line=%%a
if "!line:~0,2!"=="17" (
set revision=!line:~0,3!

Tried to change the [ZEN_CLIENT_VERSION] to various variants starting witch 17 with no luck.

Re: Problem updating Imaging driver update August 19

Just curious if you had any luck resolving this issue? I am running into this also. I'm currently running 2017 Update 4 with the FTF Roll up 1a applied. TIA

Re: Problem updating Imaging driver update August 19

The script compares it own version against the version (3 first signs) in /opt/novell/zenworks/preboot/imaging/update/ZUpdate.sig

scriptversion = 170

is not equal

ZEN_CLIENT_VERSION = 174

Is somebody aware if it is secure to modify 'scriptversion' to 174?

Does somebody check the patches before release? OMG

Waiting for an repaired update from MF ...

Hello

I haven't resloved the issue. All my computers are working with the older version so I'm wating for an update of the script or I'll copy the files manually when needed.

@Mikael2

You may want to redownload the Imaging Update.  The upload data was August 20th, not sure if there was a version prior to that which was different, but my script does not match your.

It in fact shows...

set revision=""
for /f "delims=" %%a in (ZUpdate.sig) do (
set line=%%a
if "!line:~0,2!"=="17" (
if NOT "!line:~0,3!"=="170" (
set revision=%scriptversion%
)
)
)
popd
if %revision% NEQ %scriptversion% (
CSCRIPT EchoNoNewLine.vbs //NOLOGO /TEXT:"Applying wrong imaging driver updates ......"

So currently the line is as you said it was in prior scripts...

if NOT "!line:~0,3!"=="170" (
set revision=%scriptversion%

Re: Problem updating Imaging driver update August 19

What the Batch file does is look at

ZEN_UPGRADE_CONF=%ZEN_HOME%\share\preboot\update\ZUpdate.sig

And is the version starts with "17" the script will continue and then it will continue so long as it's not "170".

This is because it is for any version of 17.x except 17.0

The actual "Script Version" is totally meaningless.......The script sets "Revision" to NULL prior to the version check and then if version check passes, it sets "Revision" to "ScriptVersion".

Then if later verifies if "Revision" matches "ScriptVersion"......The two possible cases are either its NULL beause it passed the Version Check or it matches "ScriptVersion" whatever it was.

The only reason the value assigned to ScriptVersion has any meaningful value is for logging puposes to know which supposed version is being applied.

Re: Problem updating Imaging driver update August 19

Craig,

So looking at my ZUpdate.sig file it has the following;

[ZEN_CLIENT_VERSION]
174000

I get the following in the driver update log file;

174
170

I did download the driver update last Friday(9/20/2019) and here is what I have for the version check(Linux);

{
if [ -f $ZEN_UPGRADE_CONF ];then
version=`sed -n '3p' $ZEN_UPGRADE_CONF`
while [ -z "$version" ]
do
sed -i '3d' $ZEN_UPGRADE_CONF
version=`sed -n '3p' $ZEN_UPGRADE_CONF`
done
version=`echo $version|cut -c1-3`
echo $version >> $LOGFILE 2>&1
echo $scriptversion >> $LOGFILE 2>&1
if [ "$version" -ne "$scriptversion" ]; then
echo "Applying wrong imaging driver updates ......"
exit_driverupdate
fi
fi
}

Re: Problem updating Imaging driver update August 19

Note: @Mikael2 ,

It looks like you most likely downloaded the Imaging Update for ZCM 17.0  The script in that version matches what you posted, but is not applicable to later versions such as 17.4

Re: Problem updating Imaging driver update August 19

Looks like you downloaded the wrong Imaging Driver Update.

ZENworks2017_August19.zip is the one released for ZCM 17.0

zenworks17.4.1_FRU_Aug19.zip is the one released for 17.1, 17.2, 17.3, 17.4, and 17.4. FRU1.

Your script matches what is in the the ZCM 17.0 zip.

@CRAIGDWILSON

Just an FYI I was able to find the update you mentioned for my version but I had to use patch finder instead of customer center. The customer center shows the following;

Thank you for your assistance!

Thanks for that Info!

I will see if I can get that relayed along.  That definitely explains why so many folks were having issues.

Re: Problem updating Imaging driver update August 19

It all works now when I downloaded the zenworks17.4.1_FRU_Aug19.zip and updated the tuxera driver.
