Remote Control Sluggish

Hi,

The ZCM remote control seems to be slower or more sluggish compare to
Zenworks 7. I noticed there's quite a bit of delay when remote controlling a
machine, even on a LAN.
Is there a way to optimize the remote control for ZCM?

thanks

Not yet. It is what it is. I would request that you submit an SR
though as Novell is unable to reproduce "slowness" or "sluggishness"
with ZCM compared to ZEN 7.

Even though quite a few of us mentioned this to Novell.

You can also try opening an SR

LAN Traces, etc... can be quite useful in trying to NAL down performance
issues.
If Novell can't "DUPE" it, then simply saying make it faster will not help
if they can't see any slowness.

Been there, done that.

Something about the traffic being encrypted means they were unable to
figure anything on the LAN trace.

😞

I did take camtasia "movies" to show them but I don't think they ever
looked at them.

Re: Remote Control Sluggish

Part of the issue may be the fact that Novell does not write all of the RC
code but rather provides some authentication tie-ins to allow for greater
security.
However, if you want to give me your SR#, I may be able to ask one of my
friends who works for Novell to take a peek at your SR to just get an idea.

Good news. At Brainshare, talked to one of the developers and they now
have duped it and will be looking at some code.
