Remote control Mac target display performance

We use ZCC Remote Management extensively to Windows targets and have recently started using it for Mac targets. We're experiencing display performance problems that are serious enough to make it almost not worth using for said Mac targets.

On the Windows machine initiating the remote session the display feedback is very slow, even while the actual function at the target Mac is perfectly fine. So the person performing the remote control has to wait around for the session display to redraw at a snail's pace while the cursor is zipping around the screen doing who knows what at the other end.

We have fiddled with the session settings a bit but nothing seems to make an appreciable difference.

Any ideas? Thanks!

What versions are involved? O/S on either side of the remote control and
especially patch versions on the ZEN side both on the server and the
agents deployed.

Re: Remote control Mac target display performance

Initiator = Windows 10 Enterprise 2016 LTSB 1607 (and newer)
Target = macOS 10.12.x
ZENworks Agent = 17.4.0172 (some 17.2.x & 17.3.x)
ZENworks Servers = 17.4.0.0

As a test we've tried using viewers from RealVNC, TightVNC, and TigerVNC to remote from the same Windows to the same Macs.
- TightVNC was identical to ZCC, terribly slow locally.
- TigerVNC was adequate, certainly better than TightVNC.
- RealVNC was nearly perfect, with very little noticeable display lag at the Windows side.

Possibly a temporary solution while we wait for ZCC to catch up.

Best I can suggest is making sure you are connecting using Hextile using TightVNC.
You may need to disconnect and reconnect as it will not change methods on an existing connection....

See - https://support.microfocus.com/kb/doc.php?id=7023321

ZCM is expected to upgrade to the Current TightVNC with the next major release laster this year.

Since even that is slow.....Encoding is probably the area to focus on.
I've seen many folks get tripped up thinking it was not helping, because they were trying to change the encoding on the fly and not starting a new session.
