Silent installation of an exe program

I created a bundle to install a program. I'm having trouble getting the program to run in silent mode. In Launch mode, the command I am using is c:\installs\setup.exe and the command line parameters are /quiet /s /V"/a

I can get the program to install, but I cannot get it to install silently.

Last question. Is there a way in ZCC 11.2.3a to install the executable to run "Just Once" instead of running recurrently or on a schedule?

Thanks for any help

If you run that command line manually, does it work?

As I understand it, Install is done only one time unless you choose
distribute always or install always. Launch is done always unless you
choose run once. So install it under the install tab, not the launch
tab.

Re: Silent installation of an exe program

When I run the command, the program installs, but not silently. It's completely hands off, but just not silent.

When I put the bundle under "Install", the only assignment detail options I have are "No Schedule, Date Specific, Recurring and Event"

I'm just wondering if this is because we are running an old version of ZCC.

That is the program's fault, has nothing to do with ZCM.

The added note after the initial post does give some options since it is 100% hands off (Make sure it completely goes away when done.....)

#1 - Run as System instead of User/Dynamic Administrator.
#2 - Use a VBS Script to run it hidden (likely to work...) http://ss64.com/vb/run.html

Keep in mind, if the app does not completely close every single windows, it will likely hang since users cannot press "OK" or anything at the end.

Re: Silent installation of an exe program

Under Both the "Install Actions" and "Launch Actions" tab there is an option to run these commands "Once Per User" or "Once Per Machine".
It is also possible to use "System Requirements" to prevent an app from installing if it already exists, even if ZCM did not install it via a particular bundle.

Regarding switches not working for a particular executable, there is little that ZCM can do about that.
May have to try the vendor's site.
