Traffic satellite servers

Hi everyone,

can anybody say something about the amount of traffic between the primary server and a satellite server (not bundles or images etc, only the communication traffic)?

I ask, because we have between two sites a connection which is not really high-end.

Thanks in advance

Re: Traffic satellite servers

What is the Link Speed? How Many Devices across the link?
The larger issue may be Database Connectivity and performance.

Re: Traffic satellite servers

It is a MPLS connection with a link speed of 512 KB and about 30 devices.

Re: Traffic satellite servers

We have a satellite at one of our remote buildings. Connection link is a single T1 line, 85 machines and 60 IP phones use it. The satellite is an old P3 - 1.2GHz server we repurposed.

Zen is only used for deploying packages and inventory (no dynamic profiles, etc) but this setup has greatly reduced the load on the connections and has been stable without saturating the link.
