WOL not working

Since I updated my ZCM server from 10.0.3.2 to 10.1 (now at 10.1.1) WOL
stops working.
According to what I read, I appears that it was a bug in 10.1 patch and that
it wasn't resolved in 10.1.1.
I read somwhere else that WOL issue was supposed to be resolved in 10.1.2
patch but I didn't update to that release due to some other issues that
patch seemed to create.
Now, I want to know if WOL issue will be resolved in 10.1.3 patch ?

WOL stop working for us accross multiple VLANs
Nothing changed in our switchs configurations.
ZCM 10.1.1
Windows 2003 server
Active Directory environment

Where should I look to try resolving that issue ?

PS: I don't want to use a proxy device...

Thanks.

Re: WOL not working

WOL is working for devices on the same VLAN where the ZCM server is located.

Re: WOL not working

Do you have a TID Number?
I can use that to research.

Re: WOL not working

This was considered Fixed in 10.1.2 so there will not be any code updates
regarding this matter in 10.1.3

As with 10.0.x, your router must allow for WOL subnet broadcasts.

Re: WOL not working

But 10.1.3 release will be cumulative ? Should I do 10.1.2 update before ?

Re: WOL not working

Well, If Devices on the SAME subnet work, then a WOL packet is being sent.
You need to do a Capture and examine the WOL packet that is being sent and
let us know how the packet is Malformed.

Re: WOL not working

Should I capture packet only from the server ?

Re: WOL not working

Normand,

that's probably the only place you're going to see it, unless your
routers are configured to forward the subnet broadcast...

Re: WOL not working

I started a WOL command for a group of devices and I captured packets with
Wireshark on the server.
For wich type of paquet should I look for ? Broadcast paquets ?
Broadcast paquets are only sent to the same VLAN as the server. Server is
on VLAN 10.0.90.0 and paquets are only sent to that VLAN.
Thanks for some more help.

Re: WOL not working

Sorting paquets on protocol WOL, nothing appear. No WOL protocol paquets
are sent from the server.

Re: WOL not working

I did the test again with devices in VLAN 90 (same as the ZCM server) and in
VLAN 80.
Devices in VLAN 90 works fine with WOL but nothing happen on devices in VLAN
80 (failure status).
In the paquet trace, I see 2 UDP paquets going to destination .255. In the
Wireshark info section, source port is 1104 and destination port is 1761.
Also tried using a device as a proxy without success.
Thanks for your help.
