Win8.1 - No Scroll bars, incorrect geometry?!?

Hi

We have a number of hybrid tablet/laptop devices (Dell Venue Pro 11) running Windows 8.1
The Service Desk guys are having issues with remote control.

It is only showing part of the screen and no scroll bars are available.

I *think the issue is that the desktop geometry is being misreported... As per most tablets these things actually run at 1920x1080, yet the Remote Control/VNC Connection information reports Desktop Geometry of 1280x720.

We have tried basic fiddling with Connection Display options (scaling, etc.) but no joy. Is there a way to force or re-assess the actual desktop geometry? We have another 125 of these things coming in soon...!

Cheers

I presume you are default to 100%, since that is the scaling where you would get scroll bars (vs Auto where it scales the image so you dont need scroll bars.)
Try Toggling From 100% to Auto and back to 100%.
Do you get Scroll Bars now?

Re: Win8.1 - No Scroll bars, incorrect geometry?!?

Hi
Sorry for delay. Just to relate that we had an SR for this and couldn't find anything in particular, despite numerous debug logs, etc. being produced.
We discovered it only happened on the first connection to the device. After that the geometry was reported successfully.
Given that they are working on a different implementation of vnc (TightVNC as opposed to WinVNC) for the next release and we had a workaround (connect, disconnect, reconnect) we didn't take it any further
