ZAM not showing all client computers

For some reason I cannot see any of the PC's that are not on the same
subnet as the server. Is there any simple reason why this is
happening?

I have verified that the computers at different sites are able to see
the ZAM server and that they do have the proper client on them and that
it is ran. But I still do not get the computers added to the list of
known devices in ZAM web.

Re: ZAM not showing all client computers

I can't help too much there. Networking isn't my forté, but here are some
questions that could help resolve the issue when answered.

Can the ZAM Task server properly resolve the host names of the IP addresses
found on that subnet using the account specifiec in the task server service
?
Are they in a different domain ? Is there a trust between the domains?
Are the workstations firewalled at all ? Are the correct ports open?

Patrick Clarke,

This sounds like the problem. The Windows Firewall can cause this.

Re: ZAM not showing all client computers

It is not a firewall issue, as there is no firewall between sites. It
is not a domain issue, we do not use domains.

I changed some things in the network discovery task, and it is running
right now, but still not getting any results.

Could this be because I installed the standalone? I tried installing
the enterprise edition, but I kept getting stuck at a part that
required me to enter the domain the server is running from.

Nope, does not matter.
I think we were talking about personal Windows Firewalls.

On the ZAM console, look at the tasks tab, Make sure you click the refresh
icon in the top menu bar.

Does you network discovery task report as running and a percentage
completed?

For this problem, I simply had to add a DNS entry for the server.
Apparently, there is an install file on the computers that sets the
hostname= servername.

Still having the problem scanning network devices.
