ZCM 11 Virtual Appliance Converter Failure

I have tried several times to convert the OVA file to a VMWare appliance and have failed every attempt.

Have other people been able to convert their download? If so, any hints on what you did? Like I said...it has failed for me.

Thanks!

Re: ZCM 11 Virtual Appliance Converter Failure

In vsphere client you can deploy vm from ova template.

Just do that and start up the vm.

No problems on our ESX4i

Actually in Vsphere it's Deploy from .OVF template

That's what usually confuses people and they think they therefore need to "convert" the .OVA from Novell to a .OVF

You don't. It WILL fail if you try.

Just do the "deploy from OVF template" and point it to the .OVA file and it "just works"

Takes a few minutes though as it's like 7 GB file.

Re: ZCM 11 Virtual Appliance Converter Failure

Elagrew,

I have managed this, using the standalone ovftool which you can download from vmware.
you need to change the file c:\Program Files\VMware\VMware OVF Tool\env\ovftool-hw4-config-option.xml and replace 3600 with 4096 throughout.
Then do
ovftool -tt=vmx [path to ova file]\ZENworks11_Appliance-x86_64.ova [path to your vmware machines]
