ZCM 2017 and Azure AD

hi there

We are looking at moving from AD to Azure AD in the semi near future. Can ZCM 2017 use the Azure AD is its user source?

Re: ZCM 2017 and Azure AD

It is on the road map but not there currently.

Most likely a Hybrid Azure setup with Azure AD connect would be required so there could still be a local AD Controller for ZCM to use...even if your devices primarily hit the cloud.
Note: This setup would also most likely require the use of Kerberos.

However, I would definitely set this up in a small lab before implementing.

As long as ZCM can get an LDAP connection to it it should work, other
wise soo many things would be broken. Address lookups for scan to e-
mail is just one other such thing that will be affected by such a
switch.

Re: ZCM 2017 and Azure AD

Hi Thomas, did you ever look at this?

I'm looking at Microsoft 365 now and although it comes with SCCM I'd rather not throw away ZENworks and start over.

I've been looking at the Azure AD docs and it seems like you can set up secure LDAP: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory-domain-services/active-directory-ds-admin-guide-configure-secure-ldap

It would be interesting to see if ZENworks can add that as a user source.

Re: ZCM 2017 and Azure AD

I know for a fact there are customers using AZURE AD as a ZCM User Source.
I'm not 100% sure how it is configured.

It is not officially support, but that is coming as well. (Not sure when..I've just heard it stated by folks in a position to make it so...)
Not sure what the official support will add that does not yet exist, since it appears to work...

Re: ZCM 2017 and Azure AD

Thanks, I guess the best option would be to set up an Azure trial and try it out
