ZCM Agent Installation on new PC gives dozens of BEEPs

during deployment of the ZCM Agent dozens of beep come out of loudspeaker.

Nearly each MSI gives a beep. Currently running 17.4.1 on Win10 1903 but same thing in all older versions.

Does anybody have an idea how to stop these beeps during Agent installation WITH a SCRIPT? I know I can do it by hand with a click on the loudspeaker.

May I stop a service? any other command to issue? I searched for a long time for a solution.

Thanks

Use NIRCMD via a script to adjust the volume....easily scriptable and many examples on the net that reference it.

You may want to dig into the Root Cause of what generates Beeps on MSI installs.  That is something external to ZCM.  Most likely something monitoring software installs, etc....

It would likely be quite important to know what is doing that, since it sounds like something that could get in the way of software deployments unless it was configured to be aware of what you are instruct ZCM to do and make sure it does not block stuff that you instructing ZCM to do.

Its windows notification area sounds. Every time a new msi is launched it gives a little message popup with a sound. I disabled the sounds in my image but it does not hold with sysprep.  After imaging a few hundred pc's this summer i felt like i was working in a casino!

Re: ZCM Agent Installation on new PC gives dozens of BEEPs

as suggested by Craig I put the nircmdc.exe into the Installation Directory

in the Install script I added the following lines before ZCM Agent Installation:

REM Mute des System Sounds da bei der Installation vom ZCM Agent ca. 50 Beeps kommen
c:\work\software\nircmdc.exe mutesysvolume 1
REM In case Muting does not work reduce the volume to ZERO:
REM c:\work\software\nircmdc.exe setsysvolume 0
