massive errormessages on several workstations while bundle install

dear community,

i´m new to zenworks and launched my first zen-project a few month ago.
here´s my enviroment:

ZEN-Server: SuSE Linux Enterprise 11.4
ZEN-Version: 11.1a (single-primary, no satellites)
Installation Language: German
Workstations: mostly windows xp SP3

we set up about 50 workstations for field-testing in productional
enviroment; in near future we planning to deploy the adaptive-agent to
the rest of our 300 pcs.

here´s my problem:

on several workstations i get errormessages shown in the zcc when i
changed something in my bundle-versions. for example a new version of
greenshot, firefox, openoffice or something. fresh-installed windows-os
or simply installed the agent on an existing machine doesn´t matter.

Messages looks like the following:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Unbekannte Ausnahme beim Versuch, die folgende Aufabe zu verarbeiten:
System.NullReferenceException: Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine
Objektinstanz festgelegt. bei
Novell.Zenworks.AppModule.AppActionItem.UpdateStatus(APPSTATUS status)
bei Novell.Zenworks.AppModule.AppActionItem.SetInitialStatus(Boolean
finished)

Source: /Geräte/Arbeitsstationen/pc211
Message-ID: BUNDLE.UnknownExceptionOccurred
Log-ID: 0271b165f8e87a713e2f6944b1ede870
Related Objects: /Bundles/Zen Bereich/Allgemein/Sonstiges/Greenshot
------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Der Objektverweis wurde nicht auf eine Objektinstanz festgelegt" -
really don´t know how i should use this informations to analyze this
kind of problem.

any ideas?

greetings
Ralph

Re: massive errormessages on several workstations while bund

Hello Ralph,

how are the bundles assigned/scheduled?

I found a problem with this scenario:

- bundle assigned to workstations
- bundle contains an action to be executed as logged-in user
- bundle scheduled to run (maybe install, not sure) on refresh

What happend here: If users power-on the workstation but don't log in yet it will cause this error.

Hello Obiwan,

thank you for your answer. the first two criterias are matching. but we
did not schedule the bundles to run on a specific time. at the moment we
configure it like following:

- distribution-schedule: Recurring - When a device is refreshed
- Launch Schedule: Type = Event > On User Login

the most actions inside our bundles are configured to run as dynamic
administrator; but a few simple actions like "copy a ini-file to
%APPDATA%" must run as logged in user.

greetings

Ralph
