Suite and CDF database server DNS alias change procedure

Hi,
In some cases, the customer needs to move a database or such action for performance reasons for instance, or in my case, just because we mistakenly used the server hostname instead of the intended alias.
In those cases, we need to be able to change the database server hostname in the suite (and CDF) configuration. Handling a cold data migration (if applicable) between databases can be easily handled by the customer DBAs but it would be useful to have a comprehensive procedure that states all the places where such reconfiguration needs to be done and all the actions that would need to be performed.
For instance, would a global "dirty" search-and-replace in the two NFS folders (core and hcm) be enough or is are the DB server names (and DB names) also hidden somechere in the vault or in etcd? And in that case, what's the procedure to alter the values there?
The suite database reconfiguration page currently only allows for password change. The required procedure should also allow for DB schema name change.
Thanks,
Jean-Charles
