Bare minimum install to perform searches

Jump to solution

I'm writing a windows service that connects to Trim and retrieves some records every so often.

I'm using .Net to connect to a Trim 7.1.

The windows service is to be installed on another server (not a Trim server).

What .net assemblies + com components do I need to install on this server for my windows service to function properly?

It seems that a xcopy deployment does not work 😞

Cheers

John

John,

As a bare minimum, you need to install the TRIM client on the server running IIS.  I haven't tried it, but I suspect the 7.1 "Office Integration Only" install scripts would also work.   This is because the SDK interfaces into a whole series of DLL's (both managed and unmanaged), which need to be registered appropriately and the only mechanism to do it is by installing the client.
