CM9.2 Web Client - Issue Capturing PDFs

We currently have an issue where the web client refuses to check in PDFs of any size.

When using IE11, when the PDF is dragged onto the Create New Record form, the Save button will become active, but clicking on it doesn't achieve anything.  The PDF has to be removed before the new record can be saved.  If the user then tries to come back and add the PDF via Check In, clicking the Save button results in a "Error checking record in" message.

The same thing happens using Chrome.  Additionally, when our only Mac user attempts to add a PDF, not only does she get the error message, but the HPEContentManagerAppPool stops in the Application Pools within IIS Manager and users get an "HTTP Error 503.  The service is unavailable" message when they try to open the web client, until an administrator goes into the Application Pools and restarts the Content Manager App Pool.

Has anyone else encountered this?

Re: CM9.2 Web Client - Issue Capturing PDFs

This is just a guess, but it sounds like the automatic profiling is failing and crashing the server.  Are you able to check in the same PDF documents using the Windows desktop client?  If that fails, then that would suggest that the server cannot handle PDF documents or a certain version of PDF.

Hi Jamie,

Thanks for your reply.  There's no problem checking in the same PDFs via the desktop version.

Re: CM9.2 Web Client - Issue Capturing PDFs

I am having the same issue with PDFs, across many browsers and many operating systems!  The application crashes on PDF.. WORD words; PDF in Desktop Works.. just not PDF in Webclient.

Did you every solve this?

Unfortunately, not yet. Micro Focus have been able to replicate the issue, though and I'm awaiting further information.  Once we have a resolution, I'll post it here.
