Email Archiving Systems -restoring emails if the creator has left organisation

was wondering if anyone had devised an efficient  solution for restoring/opening email-archived (stubbed emails linked to an organisation's email archiving system) emails stored in RM which cannot be opened due the original creator not being available?

Also is there a way of locating stubbed/archived emails in an RM database? looking at a stubbed email's 'document details' or electronic properties, the format looks much like a 'normal' email:  In HPE Records Manager document store, Email Message, 38.0 KB (38,912 bytes), Document Store ID: ### Document Store:001+01OX+####E0X6B1DDG.MSG

Not that I know of, with CM considered an archiving system so tends not to integrate out of the box with a stub style archiving system.
Maybe one of our business partners could comment on any proprietary software that might do what you need.
