HP RM 8 Web Client issues

Hi all,

Currently I'm attempting to test the new HP RM 8 Web Client.

Things are difficult, but then they always have been.

Discussion of the insane installation app may occur on another post.  🙂

For the moment though, I seem to have the client running, and I'm sure I connected to the correct Dataset during the install process, however I was getting a dialog error coming up saying that it appears that I may not be connected to a Dataset.

I attempt to do a Search, and nothing happens, ie it continues to just say Searching, and doesn't finish.

However, I can't find any documentation on how to re-configure things like Dataset connections, etc.

Anyone know/have any idea?  As usual, no change in the quality of documentation with this 'new' version of the product.

Grrr.

Just making sure, you aren't using the same environment as decribed in your signature?

I've never had an issue installing and using RM8 or the new webclient. It has worked without any fuss every time!

No, sorry, that's our PROD environment.  I should have mentioned:

Windows 8 64-bit desktops
Windows Server 2012 64-bit App & Event servers
SQL Server 2012
TRIM 8.00.6335

You should be able to modify the dataset connection from the webconfig file.

Greg, I can't find either a webconfig file, nor a web.config file that has any meaningful contents.

Can you point in the correct direction?

p.s. its a pity that there is Zero documentation on anything.  🙂

Re: HP RM 8 Web Client issues

I think the file you are looking for is hptrim.config in (default location) C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\HP Records Manager\Web Client Classic.

Re: HP RM 8 Web Client issues

Hey Neil

Do you have access to the RM8.0_Web-Client-Install.pdf?  If you do and it's not helping, I'd love to hear from you in regards to making the doco better (if you're keen to provide feedback).

If not, let me know and I'll share it.

Cheers

Helen 🙂
