HPE CM 9.1 Web Client - change dataset ID?

Jump to solution

I've installed the Web Client on a workgroup server before setting up the dataset. At the time, I set the dataset ID to 45.

Now that I've spun up the dataset (which has a different dataset ID) I can't connect to it via the Web Client.

The error logs indicate that it's still trying to connect to the dataset ID I set in the beginning. - I can't seem to find a way to change it to the new dataset ID.

Is there a way to change the dataset ID through the config files? Or do I need to reinstall the web-client?

Error connecting to the HPE Content Manager dataset '45' on HPE Content Manager Workgroup Server "WGS1". The dataset with the ID '45' is not available.

Off the top of my head, check the installation directory of where you installed Content Manager and look in the Web Client folder. Check the hprmServiceAPI file. There should be a line in there somewhere that says <setup databaseID="45"......

Change that to the databaseID that your database is referenced. Restart World Wide Web Publishing or reboot the machine and see if that works for you.

** If you have WebClientMobile installed, follow the same process for the file location but it is located in the WebClientMobile directory.

***** If you have WebDrawer installed, modify the file named hptrim located in the WebDrawer directory.

Hi Ralph - thanks! That was exactly it.

I was checking the hprmServiceAPI file for a dataset ID to change and couldn't find it... a 2nd look on your advice, and there it was 🙂
