No TRIM 7.1 icons in Outlook 2010

Jump to solution

Dear Team

I am testing TRIM 7.1.2.1879 with Outlook 2010 but the TRIM addin icons are not appearing in Outlook.

When I use the :

  • TRIM- TOOLS - Desktop Add-ins, the Outlook tick box keeps unticking itself
  • Outlook - File - Add-ins - TRIM add-In is Inactive - [after activating & restarting Outlook], Outlook Add-In box unticks itself.

Is there a patch to fix this?

32 or 64 bit makes no difference.

Regards,

Hi Vincent,

We are not aware of anu issues with the Toolbar in Outlook 2010 and HP TRIM 7.1.2 build 1879.  We have been using this for quite some time now and have not had that issue.  You probbaly need to look at some things in your environment as teh toolbar not displaying or disabling itself is usually caused by one of the following issues:

1) If you have upgrade from a TRIM 6 version you will need to manually go through the registry as it often leaves references behind that point to the old Outllok integration.  WIth TRIM 7 the Office Integrartion was chnaged and if teh two remain on the PC for whatever reason then it won't work.

2) You may not have installed teh correct pre-requisite files before installing TRIM.  There is an Office2010pia (there is only one version for this) and vstor40 (there is a 32 and 64 bit version for this)

3) Make sure that you have the same TRIM client as Office, i.e. 32bit Office then 32bit TRIM

4) You may have another application also installing an Add-In or even starting Outlook in teh background without you knowing.  We have had issue with VOIP systems that started Outlook before anything else and TRIM did not like that.

5) If you switch datasets in Office 2010 and TRIM 7, the toolbar may disapear but integration will still work on right-click (this is not your issue)

Hopefully one of the above will resolve your issue.  Let us know please.

Dear NZ-TRIM Expert

Your assessment was right on the money.

When the files were installed in the sequence you outlined & the bit version were the same, it all worked.

Thanks for resolving ...

Best regards

Vincent.
