Recommended to stop accessing the indexes

I have been recommended by to stop accessing the indexes across a network share and change it to local disk or perhaps a mapped drive in a fibre-attached SAN.

Can you please let me know how to change the same

Yeah, good idea. IDOL is very I/O intensive, and mapped shares notoriously unreliable when it comes to an application needing constant uninterrupted access.

It's a pretty straighforward process:

1. Stop the IDOL content services (using action=stop commands from a browser)

2. Move all the IDOL index folders and their contents to the new location

3. Amend the content service configuration files to reflect the new index paths

4. Start the IDOL content services and check the logs for any errors.

(P.S. It's a good idea to have it writing the logs to a separate drive from the indexes, to minimise contention for disk access)
