Service API is very slow retrieving content of electronic documents

I am using the Service API to retrieve the content of electronic documents.  When retrieving a 50Kb word document it is taking approximately 10s.  This is against version 8.2.  Retrieving the same document through the old web service took less than a second.  Is this a known issue?

I have heard one person make this complaint but am not sure what progress they made.  Are you the HPE employee who contacted me via email?

No, I am not a HPE employee and I haven't emailed you on this issue.  I work for a HPE partner company. Thanks.

OK then.  I suggest you lodge a support call, it will end up with me.  If you let me know the number of the call once you lodge it I will follow up with the support team.

BTW, our standard testing in 82 does not show up this issue, fetching a document via the ServiceAPI should be just as fast as it is via the SOAP web service.  The previous instance of this poblem I know of seemed to get better when they replaced their ServiceAPI server so it may have been infratructure related.
