TRIM Port

Just installed a 32 bit client connecting to 7.02.1627. The client trimport does not function. Installed run as admin on the client. All other connections appear to function. Error reads Componet COMCT232.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid.

How to I correct this?

Re: TRIM Port

The UAC setting on the deployed desktop needed to be disabled. You must be certain that you are installing the software with run as administrator on regardless of your domain or local user settings.

Re: TRIM Port

Taken from the Installation guide.

Because it is not included in newer operating systems, after installation under Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 and before running TRIMPort, register the file
COMCT232.ocx:
a.  Run a Windows command prompt as administrator
b.  Enter CD\Windows\System32 and press Enter
c.  Enter regsvr32 comct232.ocx and press Enter
If the second command does not complete successfully, you may need to install software like RegUnreg to complete the registration. If you do not register this file, TRIMPort displays the message
Component 'COMCT232.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid. and does not run correctly.

The file on a windows 64bit maching/server (Especially 2008 Server 64bit) is actuall located in the SYSWOW64 folder:

b.  Enter CD\Windows\SYSWOW64 and press Enter
c.  Enter regsvr32 comct232.ocx and press Enter
