TRIM: in Subject line of Cataloged Email?

Jump to solution

We are looking to upgrade from TRIM 6.2.3 to a later version of TRIM and have tested a few versions; however, we noticed that the notation of  "TRIM:" in the Subject line of a cataloged email is missing in some of the Builds. (The email is cataloged correctly, but the "TRIM:" notation is either not added to the Subject line of the email at all or is added briefly but then does not remain.) This is a huge deal breaker for us!

We use the Outlook integration extensively and have done a lot of training with users to look for the "TRIM:" indicator to avoid duplication of emails. It would be a great challenge to our users (and Admins) if we lost this functionality, so much so that this issue is a Go/No Go decision factor in TRIM Version/Build selection.

If you use the Outlook integration and have the "TRIM:" displayed in the subject line a cataloged email, please let me know which version/build of TRIM you are running, along with your version of Outlook, if possible. We are running Outlook 2007.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Regards,

Tamara

Hi Tamara,

We are not aware of any builds (officially released ones) that did not have this feature.  TRIM 7.1 build 1150 does insert the word TRIM: in teh subject line.

What's also quite good now is that in TRIM 7 you can enable an option to also do that for dropped emails, something that wasn't possible in the past.

We also just tested against the new TRIM 7.2 build 2264 and it works fine in there too.

Hope this helps.

Is anyone running any version of 7 which places "TRIM:" in the subject line of the email once cataloged?

Tamara,

Not sure if you have sorted this, but we have 7.1 (1157) and this feature works, you just need to set it in the TRIM Options - Dropped Files page, image attached.  There are three options;

  • Leave email message as is
  • Delete email message
  • Update email message with HP TRIM Indicator.

Hope this helps.

From memory there were a couple of issues with some pre-625 builds that caused the lack of the TRIM prefix in e-mail subjects.
