Web Client - Viewing Record's URL

Hi all,

Can I know what is the difference between the value 'True' and 'False' at the end of Record's URL in the Web Client?

http://serverName/HPTRIMWebClient/?uri=910900&t=record&lang=ln_english&mbd=false

http://serverName/HPTRIMWebClient/?uri=910900&t=record&lang=ln_english&mbd=true

Some of our users had issues in viewing the records in the Web Client if the value is 'False'. However, there is no problem if the user tried to view the record in the Thick Client. We are using a mixed mode environment (some use Web Client only and some have both Thick Client and Web client).

Please advice.

Thank you.

Re: Web Client - Viewing Record's URL

Another question is why the URL includes the lang parameter.

The links:

http://serverName/HPTRIMWebClient/?uri=910900&t=record&lang=ln_english&mbd=false

and

http://serverName/HPTRIMWebClient/?uri=910900&t=record&lang=ln_dutch&mbd=false

both show the results in the language the user opening the link has defined in the preferences. The parameter seems to be ignored as it should be. I don't want anyone to send me a link with lang=ln_russian to have the information show it in an interface I don't understand.

So why including the language in the url?

Re: Web Client - Viewing Record's URL

Hi Sander,

Thank you for the explaination regarding the language in the Web URL.

Since the Web URL is auto generate by Thick Client (as part of its metadata), we are concerned more on the details at the back which is '&mbd=false'.

Is there a different between '&mbd=false' and '&mbd=true'?

Can we know what is 'mbd' stands for in the Web URL?

Huzai, might be best if you log a support case and get the team to ask the WebClient devs directly.

Re: Web Client - Viewing Record's URL

Hi Grundy,

Thanks for the reply. We already asked HP Support team regarding the 'mbd'. Based on them...

The ‘mbd’ (month before day) parameter is used for the date format as specified under Options -> Date Format.

mbd=true -> month before day

mbd=false -> day before month

Just sharing to all 🙂

Thanks anyway.
