What makes TRIM license to be considered "used"?

Jump to solution

Let's say we purchase only one TRIM license, which activities can we do before having to purchase a new license.

  • Does inactive location use TRIM license?
  • If not, each location that has an username takes one TRIM license. Correct?
  • If we have one TRIM user using it for a while, then replace him with a new user. This user has a different username. As long as we remove the username of the first user, the second user can use TRIM. Correct?
  • Can one username be used in different datasets (Production, QA, Training,...) and still consered one license?

Thanks,

Sorry just had clarification from a colleague that seats are only counted with the “Accept logins for this user…” option in the users profile.
You can leave the logon name in that field, just untick that box and the seat should not be counted.

Hey,

Inactive locations still use license seats

You need to remove the network logon from the profile tab in the location properties

Yes, the second user can use TRIM

One username can be used in multiple datasets, the only requirement is that they have a location in each dataset. If your license is for 100 seats then each dataset will ahve 100 seats. Most licenses are for only one dataset though, if you need multiple datasets you should contact your account manager.
