<(CM) Support Tip> - Installing the zero footprint Office integration in CM 10

Hi all,

This link appears to have been accidentally omitted form the standard install documentation provided with CM 10:

Zero Footprint Office integration installation documentation can be found here:

https://content-manager-sdk.github.io/Community/10/zero_office.html

It provides detailed information on what is required and how to enable the zero footprint Office Add-in.

Supported platforms: Zero footprint office integration works in Office Online (365) and also Office 365 Desktop. It is not supported with any other desktop version of Office (e.g. Office 2016, Office 2019 etc).

Hey Neil,

So is this required for the check out for one drive in the web client, or is this somthing different ?

Hi Phil,

No the web client has its own intrinsic method of integrating with OneDrive using Azure OpenID. The zero footprint Office Integration is more for client PCs where they're not using the traditional CM Office add-ins. Replaces the "Thin Office Integration" previously provided with CM.

There seems to be few steps missing in the "OneDrive file handler" section - it instructs you to download the handler content, and follow the instructions for installing OneDrive handlers.

As far as I can tell this will result in registering Microfocus' development service API as your service target (https://mfcm.xyz/ServiceAPI/)

Thanks Jan. Relayed this to the site owner, so he added a line to the instructions:

Hi all

According to the zero install documentation - we need to find the Id element in the Office add-in manifest. Where can I find the manifest? I found the "C:\Program Files\Micro Focus\Content Manager\HP.HPRM.OfficeIntegration.Word.dll.manifest" - but this doesn't seem to be it

ServiceAPI Configuration

Office Integration configuration

The ServiceAPI must be provided with the GUID and Version found in the Id element of the Office add-in manifest.

Its linked in the site: https://content-manager-sdk.github.io/Community/10/files/manifests.zip

Inside is a word manifest, I guess that's what they mean by office addin manifest, not sure if you need other ones for PowerPoint etc

Ive logged a call about the clarity of this documentation so hopefully it will be improved soon

Thanks Jan - yes definitely need clarity on this. The link you've provided seems to be the manifest templates.

I might put this question on the CM teams chat.

Cheers

Hey Phil

So the Azure AD authentication and OneDrive integration works.

I am in the process of doing the zero footprint install (to get the Online Word and Outlook menu integration working).

Have hit some issues - doco is a bit unclear - but I am trying a few things to check if I've missed something.
