<(RM) Support tip> Microsoft Active Accessibility and RM 8.3 (and later versions)

Several customers have asked about the removal of the MSAA checkbox from the RM 8.3 menubar, the reason for this is that Microsoft have dropped support for MSAA and use a different method for items like the Screen Reader.  The functionality and features are available and can be used in RM 8.3 – but the Windows Key and U, need to used to access the menu for starting the options.

Start the Narrator (screen reader) – this will read out any selected item.  In the Search results, select a record from the search and it reads the details. Open a document for View, select all the Content and it will read it. A box is displayed around the selected item, to indicate that that the Narrator is reading this item.

The quality of the voice and the available voices, does change between Windows versions, and it improves with each version.

(Please state the version of TRIM/RM/CM that you are using in all posts)
