Data Protector must send an alert when is unable to backup a MS Exchange DB that has been deleted

0 Votes

Currently Data Protector does not send alerts when a MS Exchange DB is included in a backup job but is not backed up because is no longer available.
It was encountered in the documentation that during the Data Protector VSS integration backup, Data Protector does not interact directly with writer. Hence, the consistency of data is a responsibility of VSS writer and not dependent on Data Protector functionality.
However, is required that DP issues alerts when running a backup of an existing DAG where one of its DBs is no longer available because it was previously deleted or something similar.

Hello,

I have confirmed that this is indeed the behavior for Data Protector. Checking to see there is interest from others to fix this issue.
