Hello @qian,

This is actually not required. To protect a client with EADR it needs to have a Disk Agent and the AutoDR package only. Data Protector has the concept of the Media Creation host that needs an installed GUI, AutoDR and the WAIK or ADK. A single Media Creation host can be used to create recovery images for all clients that are supported by the installed WAIK/ADK. Since different versions of WAIK and ADK can't coexist, you would need one Media Creation host for Windows 2008 R2 and one for 2012 R2 for example.

To create a DR OS image for Windows Server 2008 and later releases, you must install the appropriate version of Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK) or Assessment and Deployment Kit (ADK) on the system on which you will create the image:

Hi Sebastian,

thanks reply.

How many WAIK Media should be installed if there are more than one system in the customer environment (Windows 2008,2012,2016,2019)?

Hello @qian,

This might be interesting for you. If you're creating the ISOs on the CLI (e.g. via automation) then you can specify -waik WAIKPath as a parameter. In theory this should allow to have different versions of ADK/WAIK installed on the same host.

@UliW_MF: If this works, we need to have this option in GUI, too.
