In DP 10.04 there should be an option to exculde the dates in new schedule option.

Hi All,

In our environment we have Daily Weekly Monthly and Quarterly backup which runs as per the below.

Daily Backup – Sunday to Thursday

Weekly Backup – Every Friday

Monthly Backup – Every month of Last week Friday

Quarterly Backup – Every Third month of Last week Friday.

As we have update from the Support engineer to conigure from the Single specification to configure schedule for all the backup jobs by cloning the schedule. But the option works and the backlog is we will not be alble to identify the backups under session is it a weekly or monthly or quarterly backups.

So we wanted the older option which was available in the DP 09.09 version for scheduling the backups, but in the 10.04 version it is more complicated than and not so user friendly to configure the backups.

Due to this we are not planning to upgrade the DP to 10.04 version from 09.09 version.

Hi  @Mueen Khan,

You have my vote for this. In the meantime you can check https://www.data-protector.org/wordpress/2018/05/complex-schedules-data-protector-10-03/ as a workaround. It works in A.10.03 and A.10.10. It was broken in A.10.04.

Hi,

please try this approach and let us know if you still think the old way of editing individual schedule files is more user frendly:

Create the quarterly schedule first (using a schedule name containing "quarterly")
Create monthly next (by clone or else), use a name containing "monthly", let it overlap with quarterly, select "Fill empty slots".
Do the same for weekly etc ...
This approach makes sure you have the right schedule executed at the right time, you can also see the right schedule in the
daily view. So you know what's coming up next. You can also edit each individial schedule in general or for individual days,
rename, move, disable/enable ...

I have tested this with DP 10.04 and 10.10.

Regards,

Uli
