Restore from a copy when needed, not when original backup is unavailable.

Hello, by default, restore can be started only from an original backup. Copy can be used only if original is not accessible. We need an easy method of restoring from the copy.

Hi,

please have a look into tab Copies.

there you can change from "auto select copy" no to yes and select your copy  (if available).

have a nice time,

Hi,
the option to select between copy/source is only available for FS-Backups, for Integrations (oracle) it's not possible.

Would be nice to have this choice general, because if source and copy are existing, than DP is (mostly) selecting the last entry, means the copy.  In our environment, the source is on a fast VTL, the copy on a Tape-Library, and rewind/seek on a LTO-Tape takes ages, compared to a VTL.

bye...
