So many customers asking for this feature. Because most of them having UEFI firmware on their machines.

EADR for RHEL 7.x  with UEFI , must be available.

Brief description:

This Idea tries to eliminate the following footnote (U)EFI platform is not supported from the Disaster Recovery Support Matrix for Linux-based systems such as RHEL7, OL7 and SLES12.

Benefit:

As of today no major server vendor is selling legacy BIOS/non-UEFI based server systems anymore. EADR is useless for modern server platforms without UEFI support. This must be changed.

Workaround:

The open source utility Relax-and-Recover does support UEFI and offers a Data Protector integration.

There is an idea to support Red Hat UEFI with EADR already which is under consideration.

This idea seems more general for Linux based operating systems.
