[81:78] Cannot read 20 bytes at offset -20(:2): ([32] The process cannot access the file because it

Hi all,

We have a problem using Data Protector 9 backing up a NAS file server.

We had a two Snapmirror volumes copied from a remote site to a NetApp Filer running Ontap 8.2. This was backed up over CIFS without any problems.

The local NetApp Filer was upgraded to Ontap 9.5, still running the SnapMirror from the remote site. On one of the volumes, a proportion of the files now get an error of -

Cannot read 20 bytes at offset -20(:2): ([32] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. ).

These files can be copened/copied as the account that is performing the backup without issue and the security on the files is good for access.

Data Protector v9.09 with all patches applied running on a Windows 2012r2 server.

Has anyone else seen this error, or know where I could look to solve the issue?

Regards,
Paul.

Hello @PaulKillingley

The updated support matrix for NAS devices does not include ONTap 9.5 for DP 9.0x

https://softwaresupport.softwaregrp.com/doc/KM01029738?fileName=NAS_Support_Matrix_DP9.0x.pdf

So this error is related to that.
