Automatic DR information could not be collected

Hi community,

During our back-up we are getting the following message:

[Minor] From: <servername>l "<servername> [/CONFIGURATION]" Time: 4/12/2019 11:05:21 PM
[81:145]
Automatic DR information could not be collected.
Aborting the collecting of system recovery data.

I have attached the Autodr.log

Physical Windows server 2008R2

Data Protector 9.07

Any idea what's causing this?

Re: Automatic DR information could not be collected

Hi @Joop,

According to the AUTODR.log...

20190507T210422 INFO storage Found disk 2: id (PhysicalDrive2), device object name (\Device\Harddisk2\DR2).
20190507T210422 INFO disk IOCTL(0x4100c) for device (\\?\PhysicalDrive2) failed. (Error=1)
20190507T210422 INFO disk IOCTL(0x700a0) for device (\\?\PhysicalDrive2) failed. (Error=1)
20190507T210422 FATAL disk EXCEPTION at disk.cpp(1483):
20190507T210422 FATAL disk     class drm::system_error(1): IOCTL_DISK_GET_DRIVE_LAYOUT_EX reported a disk (\\?\PhysicalDrive2) problem (1).

...there is a problem with the second physical disk. Check diskpart or Disk Management for details.

I have seen this in cases where a disk without a partition table was visible to the server. Could be a local disk or SAN volume. Get rid of the volume or make it usable by Windows and retry the operation.

Regards,
Sebastian Koehler
