Can't Delete Empty Client from Data Protector 6.1 for Linux

Jump to solution
Recently switched from DP 6.0 on HPUX to 6.1 on Linux. In the client list is a blank/empty client. I've tried removing it but can't. Anyone know how to delete the "empty" client in the Data Protector Cell??

hi,

take a look at the cell_info file , and search for a carriage return in the last line.

you must not have a blank line at the end of the file, the last line must be the last client line.

Hope This Help.

regards
Georges.

Thank you. I'm looking at that file. The problem is there is no hostname. In the gui, if you expand the client list, you see the computer type icon & it has a "?" on it. When I view the info in cell_info, everything looks correct. I appreciate your help. Thank you.

Hi,

Maybe the cell_info file is corrupted.

Other options is:
close the GUI
1-rename cell_info.
2-Created a new one cell_info
3-open the GUI and see if "?" desapear.
4-start to copy the clients one by one in the new cell_info, and every time you created a new close and open de the GUI and see if the new client show in the GUI.
5- if sometime fail , return to old cell_info.

Regards.
