Hi'
I have backup specification which runs every Tue-Thurs-Fri
The Data Protection and Catalog Protection is Week.
With the above protection value it means that the data on the tapes and catalog information for the sessions with availabel only for 7days
When I do a omnirpt to get the list I do see the sessions which are older than 7 days .
To make it more confusing I can see one session dated 24th mArch.
Please let me know what could be the issue

If you set protection to 7 days, and no one does anything silly (for example, export the tape) then you can be assured the data will be protected for 7 days.
Once the 7 days is up it can be quite difficult to 100% remove all the records from the IDB about backups if that is what you want to do. The IDB will do some automatic purging of information about the backups, and some manual purges can be run too, but DP will keep some minimal records about the backups until either the tape is exported or overwritten.
