Concern regarding filesystem backup and restore

Jump to solution

I am making filesystem backup from a Server A to restore in Server B

Backup ends good and restore too. But when make a comparison from source to target there are diffrences in some files and directories (size too)

No error in none sessions. Only i've detected that vss feature is not enabled in both servers i dont know if it has something to do.

Someone has happened that before? any suggestion will be welcomed

Hello @Diego Biondo,

We had a similar discussion recently where I learned that this might be in sync with Windows registry settings.

Have you been able to identify if some files are lost?

Also, what DP version and OS involved?

Thanks Sebastian thats what ive looking for i suspected that was a discrepancy from different Windows flavors and the fact that customer has Shadow copies disabled as well . In the meantime i suggested customer to open a support call with Microsoft
