I have seen other issues similar to this. What could have caused this all of a sudden? Is this Data Protector or Oracle, or BRTOOLS? Any help is appreciated.

Re: Control file not backing up due to BSM error

Please have a look into syslog and debug.log on the client sapdbprd. What Data Protector release are you running? omnicheck -patches -host sapdbprd might help, too.

Re: Control file not backing up due to BSM error

We are running Data Protector 7. The patch check showed no patches. I do not believe 7 has any available patches. I a,m checking the syslog and debug now.

Re: Control file not backing up due to BSM error

It looks like this defect here. You need to ask support, if this applies to DP 7.0 as well.

parallel archive log backups fail
