We are trying to make backup of entire physical disk on a 64-bit Windows 2008 server using Data Protector 6.1 It is local disk with several partitions and one of them is system. Backup if configured for section: \\.\PHYSICALDRIVE0 . When we start backup session the following error is generated:

DP cannot do a disk image when files are open
and files _will_ be open on an active system disk.

Is there anyway this can be done on a non system disk?im trying this on one of our data drives on a windows server and getting the same error.

can a drive be unmounted in a windows environment? if so how?

Hi,

It seems taht u can open file manager software to avoid this type of situation.
